Well, you can't deny the accuracy of it :D

But is it accurate? Pedant Ren thinks "on" is better for floors and under or beneath for ceilings.  ::)

It actually looks to me like it is mounted on chipboard flooring. Or is that some special effect that has taken over from Artex swirls?

Artex stippling -  I have similar design on my upstairs ceilings courtesy of Barratts.

Have circles downstairs, but they used the stippled effect upstairs :shrug2:

You may be right, ref Artex stipples.   Actually I was taught to do that once in order to repair a damaged ceiling in my very first home.   Advice in artex in from a professional decorator, in exchange for beer in the pub across the road. :graduate:

Istr it involved dabbing and pulling with a sponge, wrapped up in a plastic carrier bag.  Maybe harder these days, when old-fashioned “proper” carrier bags are not so easy to find?

I was somewhat amused by the statement on the edge of the alarm.  :D

Interesting observation.   And doubtless it is accurate, I’d not expect such a device to work unless provided with power from either an internal battery or a mains supply, or some other source.

But I’d also stress the double negative which avoids any implication that it will ever work, even with a power source?   ::)

When we moved to our current house in '02, there were two boilers in the kitchen; one in a corner and another under the sink.
Both were removed on installation of a new kitchen for a combi. Where the boiler pierced the ceiling looks a mess, as the making good is not as neat as the original, so maybe a less elegant stipple has its merits. It's fascinating though, lying in bed with missus trying to make out, where the man started his efforts.

Well at 80+ I have to find something to do, lying in bed with the missus! :D

@jelv,

Of interest, where exactly did you spot it?

Tbh I suspected such as, on searching, I found it other places too.   Without wanting to be too much of a killjoy, I hope you are sure that no copyrights were infringed by reposting on kitz?

From Twitter pages

Note: In general, the photographer and NOT the subject of a photograph is the actual rights holder of the resulting photograph. , but honestly can anyone see a photo like that being copyright?

I've seen this being shared in several other places including other social media outlets such as facebook.

The image appears to be linking back to the twitter image posted on twitter, therefore if there was a copyright issue... then twitter would be responsible for taking it down.  So in this particular case I think its fine :)

Ah, that is the point I had missed, I see that now, when I delve down to the html detail.  I do wish browsers would make (external) links completely obvious, so you know when you are heading off-site.  Maybe some do, but not on Safari in this instance, iPad and MacOS at least, unless I am missing some config options.

Above all, good to hear it's ok! :)
