Title: ZyXel VMG3925-B10B and DSLStats

Hi,

In case this is useful to anyone, and I saw the thread on the VMG1312. As many of you will know, the lastest FW version prevents the VMG3925 outputting data to DSLStats, as a result of Busybox being removed. Having just installed an new VMG3925 yesterday, discovering this and asking the question over on TBB, I did a quick bit of snooping and found that the last version of FW, that's readily available, that should allow DSLStats to function is: v5.13(AAVF.7)C0. Three releases after that, v5.13(AAVF.9)b1 was released and the release notes for it contain a line that states: 'Support CLI inteface'. There is no v5.13(AAVF.8)C0 version available.

Full disclosure, I've not tried this version as I can't be arsed to downgrade and will instead revert to my trusty Billion 8800AXL R2. However, looking at the post concerning the same drop in feature set, for the VMG1312, the same 'Support CLI inteface' phrase was used when its FW appeared to remove the Busybox.

Just to clarify and avoid any confusion ref. the VMG1312 model you mention.
I believe the reference is to the VMG1312-B10D model not the VMG1312-B10A.

Yes, the latest FW revision for the VMG1312-B10D, V.5.13(AAXA.7) 15/12/17 does disable Telnet/Busybox access, to the best of my knowledge this has not been fixed/changed by ZyXEL.
The previous FW revision, V.5.13(AAXA.5) 20/07/17 permits full Telnet/Busybox access, as such works with DSLStats.

As far as I know, there are no such issues with the VMG1312-B10A with it's latest FW revision.

Can't comment on the VMG3925-B10B, don't have one, I'am sure your post will be of interest to many other forum members who run this model.

Yes, should have clarified the specific model version of the VMG1312. So thanks for that tiffy.

Just in case forum members haven't already found out, the latest f/w revision for the VMG3925-B10B,
5.13(AAVF.12)C0, does now allow stats collection.  :)
