Title: Cyanogen phone
Post by: renluop on September 27, 2018, 05:14:21 PM
I hope this is the right place.

A friend in a reply to my email has it that was sent from his 'Cyanogen phone'.
I've never come across that before. To satisfy my curiosity can anyone tell me anything about them? Please.

Apparently that would be an Android mobile phone modified to use CyanogenMod (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CyanogenMod). The organisation appears to be defunct.

CyanogenMod was/is a very popular version of Android, usually installed on phones by end users, although there were some phones that shipped with it from the factory, Oppo N1 and One Plus One for example.

CyanogenMod has basically morphed into LineageOS  https://www.lifewire.com/what-is-cyanogenmod-121679

Thank, guys! Though not of the feline species, my curiosity has not proven fatal. ;)
