Interesting spreadsheet, comparing initial estimates for FTTPoD with actual survey results, found in a thread over at Thinkbroadband (http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/fibre/t/4600624-re-fttpod-desktop-quotes-and-final-prices.html).
Spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QFkK1sLBFQjlGgTwHKUI3aJSdNH-lgFsQ71SMxarWBA/edit#gid=0) :)

Indeed, I saw this a short time ago. I'm on that spreadsheet too (pending a survey for an 'actual quote') :). The average for the actual quote seems to be around half the estimated quote, but isn't guaranteed to be like that for everyone. Some may get an even better reduction or in one case not much of a reduction at all. I can't wait to hear what mine will be, but so far I've not had a date yet as to when I'll get the survey done :-\.

My quote was about £9,700+VAT, think I was in band C under the old system, probably only affordable if I managed to get linked orders from passed properties included. :-\

That is a good spreadsheet.
If FTTP hasn't made its way here by the end of the year I think I'll start the process too. The spreadsheet results are encouraging!

Some interesting news for some perhaps:

Uno have said:
OR have asked CPs from 20th September to hold back on any new orders as there has "excessive demand" for the service exceeding their resources could mean an even longer wait if that was to happen.
I imagine this is for completely new orders, not those already in a queue waiting for a survey to be arranged with an engineer call (such as me currently) or those who have already had their actual survey quote which hasn't 'expired' yet.

Their current limit of 20 orders per month is for full orders placed after a complete survey.
Anyone who hasn't got an order placed will likely be affected by this.
edit: I'll clarify, i mean those who have already paid for the survey I would consider an active order. Those still in the tyre kicking desktop quote phase will likely be waiting.
