Title: Anomaly on Stats
Post by: banger on September 08, 2018, 02:49:47 AM
I have had another Admin reset according to my session history on Uno which Uno say was an actual port error. But the anomaly is that Uno ran the Openreach test suite and that was showing a sync time of 1 hour around an hour after my router couldn't reconnect but DSLStats is showing 10 days sync uptime. Also the OR test showed a sync rise of 1 mbit.

Any ideas why the openreach test shows 1 hour sync time and dslstats shows 10 days on my ZyXEL VMG-1312-B10A? I have now swapped for another modem, same model just in case one is misreporting.

It is going to be a monitor and see with this one.

DSLstats can sometimes miss a resync if it completes between samples, but the uptime should be right because that's taken directly from the available seconds figure reported by the modem.

Did you save a copy of the stats you can check?

Did the line definitely resync?

That's the argument John, I had a PPP session drop but Openreach report says sync drop. My modem says 10 days uptime. I have swapped the modem just in case but I think the Openreach test is wrong for some reason.

None of the GEA FTTC test results I've seen on the Plusnet forums give the total uptime, they only give some data on the 15-minute periods, in which the maximum uptime is of course 900 seconds.

EJs the guy from Uno just said he saw an increase in sync from the test. It only happens when I see Admin Reset in my session radius history which he claims was a port error. It happens very infrequently so I will have to wait til the next time and get him to run another test.

Just had another Admin reset after 6 days uptime, no data flow when it reconnected so had to manually disconnect the WAN and reconnect to get data flow going again. Waiting for Uno to get back to me.

Talking to Uno they seem to think it was a wholesale blip and I have seen the AA Status mention the drop too. In my Asus router I have 3 options for Internet detection. Disable, PPP Echo and DNS Probe. As Uno seem to think after the blip I had a stale session which would explain no data flow after the router fell back from my 3g dongle should I change the Internet detection to DNS Probe as it seems PPP Echo doesn't detect a stale session?

Trying DNS Probe for 10 tries on my router which keeps the connection alive while my modem re-syncs so next will be to see if an Admin reset can survive up to 10 DNS Probes.
