Title: capcha on login page
Post by: NorthernLad on August 14, 2018, 04:16:12 PM
Hi Guys,

Just a passing comment - your signup form's captcha is incredibly difficult to decipher, It took me around 5-6 guesses of the text in the image to register.  Each time it fails you also have to re-enter your password and agree to the terms which makes the signup process very un-user friendly.

Thanks
NL

Hi sorry about the difficulty and thanks for your comment.
It's standard default SMF captcha which comes part of the forum software and I don't even have it set on its highest setting.

It's a fine balance between trying to keep the forum spam free and yet still being friendly to humans.

I could lower it but am not sure what effect it may have against bots.   I'll give it a try for a week.
