Perhaps just pulling some more fibre through which now may be necessary to accommodate the g.fast pod.
It's possible that with you starting off with an ECI with 1gb cables, but have now decided that a 10gb cable-link is required.
Quite often new cable can be pulled through with little disruption, but if the road is narrow then for safety reasons they may have to use traffic lights whilst the contractors are working.   The cable reels are quite large and obviously the truck bearing it could take up one lane if there isn't anywhere to park.

*guessing.

Thanks! So with the Huwaei in place they have the capacity to take the larger cable?
GFast, I didn't think Ringwood was any list, and it wouldn't serve many lines.

Is that not a g.fast pod attached to the side of the PCP?  The image is small, so that's what I assumed it was.
Go have a look and see if it has any vents.

That box was added sometime ago, about time the ECI went in.It's unvented. I did post at the time, but can't recall, what it was.

There's a job right next to it that is linked to the works at your cabinet.

Description - BLOCKAGES - excavate on to BT ducts for the clearance of duct blockages in FW to facilitate spine cabling works.

It isn't a G.Fast pod it's an extension for additional tie cables that we often see with 2nd DSLAM's.

An identical extension for tie cables now sits on the other side.

Definitely identical? It couldn't be similar but with vents on the front (a G.Fast pod)?

Must say I've never seen a PCP with a copper extension on both sides before.

No vents, I assure you.

How many premises does that cabinet serve?

About 640 here, ~550-600 FTTC customers at peak, a single extension suffices.

It's possible that with you starting off with an ECI with 1gb cables, but have now decided that a 10gb cable-link is required.

CableLinks are inside headends only, between OLTs / layer 2 switches and CP equipment.

The FTTC cabinets only take Gigabit Ethernet links and those are all they need.  :)

In CodeLook it says 843 properties passed. It's on the outer edge of town, but also covers well into the countryside.

You're stuffed for G.fast now. Guess they'll have to go to FTTP.
