Title: Interesting paper about bridged taps
Post by: konrado5 on July 19, 2018, 11:24:38 PM
"The attenuation introduced by a bridged tap is independent of the tap location, but depends on the bridged tap length. [...] The received FEXT depends on the tap allocation. Figure 1 shows that FEXT power accumulated over the part of the loop from the transmitter to the bridged tap is attenuated by the bridged tap exactly as the transmit signal. However, the bridged tap does
not effect the FEXT power accumulated over the part after the bridged tap"

Here's an abstract that fits with that on the depth of the dip and how you could determine whether one or both wires in the pair are bridged.
