Title: Custom keyboard correction

I wonder if there is a way in the iPad of setting the virtual keyboard up to correct certain frequent annoying things that go wrong - not just individual words that are misspelled but other patterns of certain kinds? An example is that I keep hitting the ` and ' keys when I am trying to hit the shift keys, so I get a spurious character and also fail to get the shift effect applied.
