Title: US sync - why is it so slow?
Post by: GaryW on May 18, 2018, 09:40:30 AM
Hi all,

Just looking for any thoughts on why my US sync is so slow.  I've included bit-loading and dslchecker info below, and as you can see my DS sync is in the middle of the estimated range (a banded 15 versus estimate of 11.8-18.5)  However, my US sync is a pitifully low 0.5 versus the estimated range of 0.8-1.9.  I'm on an ECI cab with a Broadcom-based modem.  If I switch to a Lantiq-based modem - I've tried HH5a and Draytek 2760 - my US sync gets a bit better (0.6) but my DS sync gets much worse (a little over 11).

Is this most low US sync likely due to UPBO (which I think is to protect my luddite neighbours on ADSL  :) ) or are there other likely causes - would welcome any suggestions/thoughts!
