I was thinking of upgrading to 2016 Home and Student, but it seems it does not include Outlook. I have a Hotmail account from year dot and a leter Outlook one from the time I set up Windows 10.
If I do change, will I lose my accounts, unless I opt for the Professional version, or is there a work a round?

MS Outlook the mail client is not Outlook the mail service, only Microsoft could give 2 different products the same name. The Outlook mail service (previously hotmail) is totally independent of MS Outlook the mail client.

I would look at any of these, all perfectly legal and cheap for fully MS Office 2016.

Just make sure you backup the token stores in Windows10 to keep the perpetual license.
I got MS in install my recent copy of MS office 2016! , and the keys do tend to have a "use by" window!

@parkdale Thank you. :) Which did you opt to get it from?
What checks did you make to ensure legality for your system?
I ask, because I have read posts on various sites to effect MS sometimes detects copies not legal for the computer on which they are installed.

These copies of Office 2016 are locked to the hardware platform so one shot install best done by going to https://setup.office.com/
If you have a problem they can also install the software remotely for you by "log me in".
Then follow this http://blackandwhitecomputer.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/backup-and-restore-activation-for.html for backing up your activation.
So the activation will last as long as you own the hardware platform
Try this seller https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01DYRABLI?m=A30MZ070P8CQKN&ref_=v_sp_widget_detail_page if the key fails for any reason contact the seller, and they must give you a replacement key.
Edit to update info on Amazon seller
