Title: How do my stats look?
Post by: SamBGB on April 03, 2018, 01:57:33 PM
Hello,

I have noticed the last couple of days that my line seems to be dropping or at least thats the symptom, when I check the modem it still says Showtime. The internal network all seems to be working fine from what I can tell. Please could you take a look at my stats.

Do you see anything that could be concerning etc?

To be honest I am convinced it was a BT issue but just want to start ruling things out.

Hello Sam. Welcome to the Kitz forum.

Link Uptime:   0 day: 0 hour: 25 minutes

At the time you harvested those statistic, the ITU-T G.993.2 (a.k.a VDSL2) link had been up for 25 minutes.

Previous 15 minutes time = 15 min 0 sec
FEC:      71      0
CRC:      0       1
ES:       0       1
SES:      0       0
UAS:      28      28
LOS:      0       0
LOF:      0       0
LOM:      0       0

In the 15 minute period prior to the then current period there were 28 UAS (unavailable seconds) recorded. I suspect that those unavailable seconds were the result of the modem undergoing a re-train.

There's not much else that I can see.

[Edited to clarify the statement about the 28 UAS.]

Cant see anything wrong with the actual line stats.   Sync speed seems about right for the attenuation.    Line has G.INP.

Line has been up for 25 mins caused by a sync lasting 28 secs... but there is insufficient data there to know what caused the [re]sync.
However I note there is no previous days data which indicates a full power cycle of the modem, thus unlikely to be caused by anything at BT/Openreaches end.  A standard resync doesn't usually clear all the counters.

You may be best monitoring with DSLstats to see if you can see anything going on with the SNRMargin as I notice its at 6.5db so gone up .2 db since sync.   That in itself isn't a problem, but indicates that your SNRM may vary slightly.
