Title: AAISP giving out free /30 or /29 IPv4 blocks

Our Home::1 tariff has always had a fixed single IPv4 address and a block of IPv6 addresses, however, we are pleased to announce that we will allocate a /30 or a /29 block of IPv4 addresses to anyone who needs them for free.

A /30 will give you two usable addresses and a /29 will give you 6 usable addresses. (The block of IPv6 addresses gives you around 18 million trillion usable addresses!)

Contact sales@aa.net.uk if you require a block.

Well, as soon as my SoHo::1 is out of contract in a few months then I'll be regrading to Home::1, since I don't need the business grade care (line rental) or the 2TB of bandwidth, I can easily work with 1TB + 200GB (across two lines), plus quota bonus. Now Home::1 offers a block of IPv4 /29 that's perfect for me.

That is really good to hear.

When I had a dsl line with Zen, I got a free /29. Before that I had a /28 or somesuch with Demon. Now I have had a routed block with AA for a long time.

I wonder if AA got hold of some more IPv4 addresses from somewhere else?
