Title: Why is my DS SNRM So Low?
Post by: lewisp8 on March 04, 2018, 10:33:07 AM
My US SNRM always seems to be very high often between 7.5-9 and my DS SNRM is always around 3-4.  I'm on MDWS as lewisp8. My line rate is about 84Mbs so everything seems fine i just thought it was a bit odd as they both should be about 6.

you are on a huawei cab so dlm has implemented a lower DS snr profile. on lines with a lower sync it can increase speed.

As mentioned on Huawei cabinets the DS SNRM can be lowered to help increase sync. Now it can be a 6, 5, 4 & 3dB target. Your line looks like it is on a 4dB target, though there's only a couple days data so hard to tell.

The US SNRM will be higher than 6dB when you are at max sync. This is referred to as having "spare" SNRM.
