Title: Any way to tell if a cabinet is full?
Post by: V_R on March 01, 2018, 10:48:37 PM
As title really, is there anyway to know if a cab if full or not before being connected to it?

I do notice the cab in question has had a 384HD. Would that make it any more or less likely to be full?

Cheers!

If it's full then running an address check on the BT Broadband Availability Checker (https://www.dslchecker.bt.com) will show "waiting list" for any FTTC services.
A telephone number check for an active FTTC line will always show available, even if the cabinet is full.

The fact the cabinet has had an HD (high density) extension added only suggests that the original 288 ports were full. It gives no indication as to how many of the additional 96 ports are free.

Fair enough, cheers for the reply. Pretty much what I thought.

Thank you. :)
