Many thanks to all. Was ill on xmas day and mrs w broke a tooth off courtesy of yorkshire pud. Lovely snowfall in the early hours of 27th. Snow went away completely before the 25th and it was extremely warm and very very wet, with Mrs W not even lighting the fire on the 25th. Huge pond has appeared in the back field. Failed to get downstairs this month, again.

Rare to get any snow much. Second lot this month now, falling all night 26-27th.
At 2017-12-27T05:30 Mrs Weaver took neighbours to Caol Loch Aillse station (on the mainland, right by the Skye Bridge) in her serious bus with good tyres, ground clearance and lots of software set to "snow (lying)" mode. This was so that neighbours could get 06:10 train to Inverness so they could then god help them drive a rented car to Edinburgh Airport as their car is no use. She picked up an IM containing an SOS we're stuck at 02:30 as by sheer chance she happened to be awake.

Very public spirited of Mrs W, well done. :drink:
A fair bit of snow down South today. Had to return from a Christmas trip, snow forecast to fall last night into this morning and warnings aplenty on traffic radio of lying snow as I set off. Successfully timed my trip to avoid most of it but plenty evidence remaining on the fields &verges, eg M4 around Hungerford. The actual road surface had completely thawed by the time I passed but even so, complete chaos - queues, queues and more queues. A trip that should have been just over an hour took about three hours. :(

I would just hate all the traffic now, having lived in London twenty years ago for a long time. Worked in the West End for sixteen years.
