Title: Podcast Software
Post by: canon on November 05, 2006, 09:32:00 PM
Can anyone recommend Podcast receiving software. The BBC site mentions Juice (was iPodder) and Doppler.
This is a new subject for me but as there's a lot of stuff now availalble it seemed a good idea to try it out.
Thanks.

I don't know much about all this stuff, but am I missing the point.. or is it too obvious to mention iTunes? ;)

As far as I'm aware, Podcasts (well, Audio ones anyway) are simply MP3 files, so even Windows Media Player should play them

Apparently, according to the BBC, iTunes does not 'do' all podcasts plus the fact it's 'commercial'. Software like Juice 'finds' & indexes podcasts so you can sort out what you want to listen to, maybe as a stream rather that a download to save? I thought  a lot was video, but it seems most is only audio and most of the BBC stuff I'd be interested in is streamed anyway.
I'll try the BBC listed ones, Doppler & Juice to see what's involved and learn a bit more.
