Sometimes reading, and understanding or not threads here, but entertained, i get an impression that some folk obsess about speed to the nth degree. That made me think, if fibre brought other blessings to the Joe Bloggs user than a little more time to scratch those itchy spots. ;D

ahuh :/

Sorry, what I was asking basically, does a fibre connection yield any benefits other than speed in general use.
-
Greater stability (in most cases).

For like situations?

If your 'E' side pair goes down it won't affect your broadband.

@renluop
I've no idea what you are on about. If someone is supposed to sync at 75Mbps and it drops to 74Mbps that is a crisis - OR must be called to sort it out, if they don't it's breach of contract and claims for compensation have to be made. If that doesn't reach a satisfactory conclusion it's ADR time. Following that it's contact the MP, blaze it across the local press - hell it's that serious you might have to take up the matter with the European Court as it's breaching their human rights to a decent internet connection. Once we are out of Europe obviously you'd have to take it to the UN.
How dare you suggest that such a serious issue that losing so much as 1bps is not a very, very serious matter!

Do I detect an element of satire from comments by lsdamin (or his cousin)? :D

Ahh sorry misunderstood what you were getting at.
If you mean FTTP, then see ~ What are the advantages of Fibre Optic Cable? (http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/fibre-optic-cables.htm#fibre_optic_advantages)
Added bonus - no DLM :)

My satire radar lit up like a christmas tree.
I'm assuming Jelv read your question the same way I did first time around. ;) *
