Title: VMG1312-B10A and Sky IPv6
Post by: hushcoden on November 10, 2017, 01:56:52 PM
Hello, does anyone know how to configure the ZyXEL with Sky ADSL in order to get an IPv6?

No issues with the Sky hub SR-102, but with a third-party router seems a mission impossible...

Thanks.

Generally the LAN setup is pretty simple; SLAAC (Stateless Address Auto-configuration) and RADVD (Router Advertisements). Personally I wouldn't worry about DHCPv6, especially until things are working, and maybe not even then.

The trickier bit is the WAN setup as this is where the router requests and gets delegated an IPv6 prefix that it can then use on its LAN. Is there another page showing the WAN setup?

EDIT:

It may be different for you, but on my ZyXel 8924 the WAN settings are under the 'Broadband' configuration. Under the IPv6 Address section, select the IPv6 Address 'Automatic' radio button and check the 'Prefix Delegation (IA_PD)' tick box.

I changed the from "From DHCPv6 Server" into "RADVD" and in the broadband section IPv6 Address is Automatic but if I tick Prefix Delegation (IA_PD) and save, it doesn't keep the setting...  >:(

Attached the WAN section.

http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/aaisp/f/4572337-vmg1312-b10a-and-ipv6.html might unfortunately be relevant and bad news for you. When I used the VMG1312-B10A I had IPv6 working, however it was only acting as a bridge modem where my Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Pro 8 is handling the IPv6 stuff so that most likely was why it worked for me :P. Otherwise given I've not configured it on the B10A I can't offer advice other than it might be broken on the B10A.
