Title: Sync Rate Higher Than Attainable Rate
Post by: cwaite on October 02, 2017, 01:06:03 PM
Just wondered if these stats are correct in the HG612 Stats Viewer it since G.INP was re-activated (after a line reset) my Sync Rate shows 28999kbps and my Attainable Rate shows 28524kbps, does this mean that if I were to power off or disconnect the HG612 I would only reconnect at the Attainable Rate (i.e. the lower rate)? Or is this normal on a line with G.INP active?

Its possible.    The current default Target SNRM is 6.3dB.  Your SNRM is 6.2dB.

Attainable will fluctuate in line with SNRM, although ~475 does seem quite a bit of speed for 0.1dB.   The max attainable is just a guide calculated by the modem based on the Target SNRM. Some things can skew the calculation - Interleaving/INP in particular is known for it.
I can't say Ive noticed G.INP making big differences to attainable - certainly not like INP does.
