Title: Huawei HG612 Can it Still be Unlocked

Hi guys

Not sure what section this should be posted in
Recently bought the above modem off ebay (3b version) and due to issues with my FTTC I remembered that it can be unlocked (I used to have one previously)

Is that still the case - I can see the guide but not sure of there is any update on that

I need the stats as my speeds are shocking!

I have had an 2015 ECI modem for a couple of years now and have not had an issue with it.....to my knowledge anyway.

Is it worth changing to a Huawei modem instead?  I know there was comments in the past saying that the Huawei might sync at higher speeds but is this still the case these days?

Is it purely for the line stats that people want the Huawei modems?

For info....im with plusnet on a 80/20 package and just the other days they gave me a screen shot of what my sync actually is....which is 78/20.....so not far from full speed already.

Currently, the hg612 will allow G.INP and Vectoring to run on your connection if available at your cabinet which can give you a better connection.

The hg612 is also compatible with dslstats and mydslwebstats which allow you to gather and share many details about your connection that is useful for troubleshooting and asking for advice from others.
