hi all,
i'm desperate, cannot find anywhere the default credentials to access my router via telnet
may someone help me?
thanks
michele

The login name is probably Administrator (with a capital A), and the password might be the serial number.
-
Try the following...
Username: Administrator
Password: serial no.
Username: Administrator
Password: blank (no pwd)
Username: Admin
Password: serial no.
Username: admin
Password: serial no.
Username: admin
Password: admin
etc.

I'm guessing you did not get it from PN.
The 582N, which I think preceded it came with a card with all the setup details. There the user name was admin and the password was the serial number on the rear. The card also had the wireless key.

If it's a device from Zen then it's:
username: engineer
password: the access key on the sticker under the device.

ok, thanks for your suggestions, i only miss to try j0hn suggestion (i'm not currently in front of my router, so i will try it on monday)
in the meanwhile, just seen the log, and from there it seems that the right username could be 'root'
(all the other usernames are logged as "invalid username", not root)
as password I tried.
11 characters serial nr (lower and uppercase), admin, Admin, blank, Administrator, administrator, root, 1234
ARGH!!!

hi all, maybe john was right
just tried with engineer (even not having in fornt of my the code in the bottom side of the router), and for each attempt, the log gives me:
"Bad password attempt for 'engineer'..."
instead of "bad username..."
on monday i will try and get back the results to you!
thanks

Where did you source the device? Does it have any ISP branding on the device or on the login page?
if engineer/access-key doesn't work, try tech/access-key
-
my ISP provider is XLN uk
i really guess you are definitely right, yesterday i accessed the gui and i changed my pwd from the access key under the device to a new one
unfortunately i'm not in front of my router, but on monday i will try!
and get back to you obviously
thanks again for your support

Have you tried asking your ISP support if they can reset it or know the root password?
-
Try this?
