At some point I've managed to allocate a hotkey on XP, trouble is I get a warning when the desktop appears that it can't be found. I just close the box and have no further problems, its not life threatning just annoying, does anyone know how to get rid of it. With W98 I would have poked about in the registry, but I'm not so confident about doing that with XP.
Another question, I know everything fights at once to get on the task bar and notice the icons often appear in a different order on boot up, is that the order they loaded, 'cos ZA always seems to be last, I believe there is a way to specify the order of loading, could someone point me in the right direction.
Many thanks

Hi, by default, XP already has shortcut keys.

Do you know how yours was created, was it by a separate program?
Check your Startup Programs via msconfig and see if there is anything relevant.
To delay or set the order for Startup programs, try this free program.

Not used it myself so it comes with no recommendations.

Thanks for your reply, had a look and found something I thought might be it and unticked it, sadly after a reboot it was not to be. Made a note of the error code this time and as always google is your friend in these situations, found a Toshiba Site (lappy is a Toshiba) and the soloution entails unticking a lot of things and then reticking them one by one with a reboot in between until the offender is found. Think I'll live with it unless I get really, really bored.

What are the actual key-strokes that you are pressing to activate the "hot-key".
Could it possibly be for your mouse, middle button or thumb-wheel ?
