Looking through the various miscellaneous "doings" currently advertised for sale on eBay I came across a Wandel & Goltermann DominoPLUS DA 360 Internetwork Analyzer (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122382775069).

It looks as if it would be suitable for (Ethernet) network snooping (or even man-in-the-middle attacks).
