Hyperoptic Brings 1Gbps FTTP Broadband to its First UK Housing Estate (http://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2017/01/hyperoptic-brings-1gbps-fttp-broadband-first-uk-housing-estate.html)
Urban fibre optic ISP Hyperoptic has taken a break from deploying “hyperfast” broadband to big apartment or office blocks in the major UK cities. Instead they’ve begun rolling out their Fibre-to-the-Premise (FTTP) network to a housing estate in Hertfordshire’s Welwyn Garden City.
The Bellway at QEII development, which is being managed by Bellway Homes, compromises 163 properties including houses and apartments; these tend to sell for between £319,995 (two-bedroom coach house) and £484,995 (four-bed home). This is unique for Hyperoptic and represents the first time that we’ve seen them run FTTP to individual houses (it’s usually only big buildings with lots of apartments or offices).

Although this is a first tentative step, I think its in the right direction.

Don't get optimistic about seeing Hyperoptic building in existing estates: not happening. Greenfield only.
