Title: Notification
Post by: kitz on April 23, 2008, 01:15:17 AM
This forum has today had to regretfully revoke the posting rights of a member due to complaints and concerns over his behaviour, which has been brought to our attention from several other members. It would appear that he has been doing this in PMs both on and off this site, and also via other means.

As we are unaware of the full extent of this person's defamatory behaviour we have decided to make a short statement to clarify our position.

This site is a well respected source of information within the adsl and ISP community.
We have never claimed to be Telecoms experts, although amongst the site staff and regular users there is a large wealth of knowledge about adsl, ISPs, networking, electronics, BT, computing and IT.

Due to abuse of these forum facilities after complaints and concerns over your behaviour from several members, posting rights for your account has been revoked.

Continued harassment or the spreading defamatory and libellous comments against the site, its owners or members will result in us taking further action/and/or publication of your untruths, defamatory comments and underhand tricks.

This is a help site not a political platform.

Thought I'd tie a few things up here and provide some links to examples of where said individual has been warned about his behaviour.

After yet another complaint was brought to our attention and the discovery of yet more underhand behaviour, we unfortunately found ourselves with no alternative but to undertake the action that we have done.

I would also like to echo the sentiment above that banning a member is viewed as a last resort, and something that we do not like to do. Unfortunately we had no real choice in the end.
