Title: Does anyone know where to get a good java editor/compiler?
Post by: Bowdon on October 30, 2016, 02:28:54 PM
I'm thinking of trying to get in to write Java programs. I've seen a few videos on youtube but a lot of them are rather old and some of the links are out of date.

Does anyone know a good java editor/compiler for free?

My personal favourite is JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA. Quite simply the best made one with the best features. Visual Studio also works quite well for it. For open source there is also Eclipse and NetBeans which are quite good (my preference being Netbeans).
On the whole, there isn't really any specific compiler that is better than another, they are all pretty much the same.

Well thank you for the input! I will try JetBrains at once! :)
