Title: data corruption over Centurylink bonded pair
Post by: mike_b on October 18, 2016, 06:19:11 AM
I have been struggling with data corruption over a Centurylink bonded pair connection. Essentially I cannot download software. For example, my windows updates mostly fail. When I do them manually the connections gets interrupted all the time, and I have to click resume dozens of times to end up with a good download. Other software downloads finish, but I am then told that thre are checksum errors. I am trying to use mdmstatus to get some statistics, but when I set up the modem as described, I get "OpenNetwork Connection error". the modem is an Actiontec c2000T, and my network sits behind a netgear firewall. I had them on different 192.168.x.x segments, but een when I moved the modem to the same segment, I get the error message. Do I have to have a computer connected directly to the modem to run this software?
while I was on the modem, I checked the statistics, and it had reported 900 CRC errors in the last 24 hours. Is that normal?
