Title: G.INP on upstream: what are the requirements to have it enabled?
Post by: GigabitEthernet on September 12, 2016, 12:44:48 PM
Just curious about what is required for G.INP on the upstream to be enabled?

Obviously you need a compatible modem but what else is taken into account? Is it purely errors or do disconnections come into play as well?

I'm going mad. I've posted this before. Apologies for the duplicate post.

Although, having said that, it never was discovered what the exact criteria were :(

it's off by default. It's only enabled if there is high error rates on the upstream, and usually turns back off again when errors drop down to lower levels. It's standard OpenReach stuff, if it doesn't work for some modems we'll turn it off for them all.
