Title: Grout Clean con
Post by: Peter on August 11, 2016, 08:15:03 PM
I saw this on FB, an recipe for cleaning grout, when I clicked to open it I got what appears to be phishing con aimed at BT users.

I've added screen captures.

it will probably be using your ip address and trying to make it look more targeted. are you a bt customer?

also that's not phishing. phishing is pretending to be bt, making their website look like bt, and trying to steal your username/password. that's just a con making idiots think they've won an iPhone, and getting them to hand over their personal info, probably to seek for marketing or to scammers.

Ive had similar only they say Plusnet User.   They get the info from your IP address.
Its always to say Ive won an iphone or galaxy.   What they are hoping you do is then give them some personal info.

This type of scam has been around for a while :(
