I believe I have a 'hr dis' fault again, I can hear crackling/pops on the line when the VDSL2 signal is active (router/modem connected). SNRM drops, CRC/FEC errors go through the roof, sometimes enough to lose sync.
When there is no modem/router connected and a corded phone connected to the test socket, there isn't really any noise, perhaps a few pops/crackles.
Is it worth getting BT to try to fix this again?
4 months ago it took 5 engineer visits before they did a line pair swap and I'm sick and tired of going through support again...

it's definitely worth contacting your _telephone service_ provider. (Who is not necessarily your ISP, it's whoever you pay your line rental to, or phone bill.)

I don't know what's happened but after a few weeks of actually using my landline (making calls, etc) things have stabilized. The SN margin is stable (well doesn't drop so much) even when the phone is off the hook or called. I guess there must have been some damp somewhere that has cleared up during this hot weather. Had two resyncs around 3am, one was a RDI so something must have happened. I hope this stays.
EDIT: It's back again, think I'll just live with it for now since it's not extremely critical.
