Hi all,a few months ago I found a keyboard shortcut that allowed you to just print just the part of a page instead of it all,I just can't remember what it was or where i found it.Any ideas?

Hi UB.
If you highlight the text you want to print, then from "File > Print.. then select the option just to print the selected area.
Hope this is what you want...

This is indeed also a feature of Windows operating systems prior to Vista and works in various programs such as IE, Firefox etc.
It is indeed useful, espcially on websites where the page would not print properly using default settings.

Erm,I highlighted the text,but where's the "File>Print............

Are you referring to that odd beast called IE7?

Yes Soms,is that a different way of doing things?

No it is the same but first you need to get to file menu.
Press the "Alt" key and the menu bar will appear at the top of the screen with all the usual options, File menu, Edit menu etc etc.
If you want it to stay there all the time go on the View menu, select tollbars or something and tick Menu toolbar.
Sorry if that is a little vague but I have declined to use IE7.

I have to admit when I first started to use Vista, I found it very awkward not having the Menu Bar permanently in view in other Vista applications also. But as Soms points out, you can also change this too.

Right,Highlighted text, got the File>Print,Can't find the option to print selected area.I know this was not the way I did it before.I remember it was a tip in the windows vista magazine, but I can't find the magazine.

I am looking with VIsta and IE7
When I select some text (highlight)
Go to File then Print... (from the Menu bar)
There are two tabbed pages "General & Options) we want General.
Two thirds of the page down are the "Page Range" options.
All
Selection
Pages
Now if I click "Selection"
only the highlighted text will be printed.
(Also make sure your printer is selected at the top of the page)
(This also works with IE6)

Incidentally, the keyboard shortcut to the Print dialog box is Ctrl+P :)
