As some of you may already be aware that in the past TP-Link have worked with and used members of the Kitz forums for various beta testing of modems/routers and revised f/w versions etc.
An opportunity has arisen to recruit a team of UK beta testers and TP-Link has invited members of the kitz community to apply to be part of their beta testing team.
‘TP-LINK believe real-world testing is an important step in product development, it enables to get user feedback so we can provide customers the best quality solutions with the best user experience possible. If you are interested in testing our products before they launch, please read through the following instructions before applying.
We cannot guarantee you will be selected immediately as a tester. We will however keep your details on file and contact you as soon as the first suitable product is available TP-LINK is committed to improving the products and user experience through user feedback. This beta test will assess the latest products including Routers, Powerline Adapters, Range Extender, Smart Home products and SMB products. In return for your valuable feedback you may keep the sample product after the testing period ends. ’
If you are interested and wish to apply, then please complete the application form here (http://goo.gl/forms/ndcQpjvAbA1XcsPt2)
I suggest you add your forum member name in the additional section of the application form eg Kitz Forum member: 'username'
If accepted you will have access to a beta test section of the forum and be able to give direct feedback to their UK Product Manager.
If you have any further questions or comments please add below.

Thanks Kitz. I've signed up :)
-
Have signed up to though never seem to get lucky in Beta Testing schemes :fingers:
-
Have signed up as well..
-
Thanks, I have also applied.
-
Have also registered here, whether or not things go any further remains to be seen.
-
nice - my application was accepted! :yay: :yay:
-
mine too :)
-
Has anyone had any problems registering on the TP-Link support forums?
I've registered but haven't received an email to 'confirm' my registration and I note that the name of the newest member to join that forum hasn't changed all day..
-
Yes, exactly my findings here.
(I've sent an email to them seeking clarification but (as yet) haven't had a reply back) ...

My registration was the same, it's accepted me as a user and I can log in.
Reading the email I received I think they will grant you access manually?
without a confirmation email.
Just a guess anyway.
-
Signed up. How many of you read everything?
-
Accepted too
-
Signed up, though noticed this a little late sadly.
I'd be intrigued as I certainly had some feedback on the VR900 (ultimately returning.. though it was a fine line) so it would be good to provide feedback on other options.

I agree that according to their email, TP-Link should grant us access to the 'Beta Test' area manually.
However, I think the point that RayW and I are making is that without the usual 'confirmation your email address' email our forum accounts are not fully functional (for instance - if we wanted to post a message on their normal forums and didn't know anything about a beta test program)
I see the name of the 'newest member' on the forum has changed overnight, so some must be able to successfully complete the registration/confirmation process (FWIT I used a gmail address for my account)
-
Signed up but also noticed a little late.
Will I receive some sort of email to confirm application or is that only for people who are accepted?
-
I realised I put my kitz forum id in (and one I use in most places) rather than TP-link (planretf1) where I made a typo....!
-
Well I received an email asking to sign up to the forums, but had the same activation problems as everyone else, just awaiting manual activation.
-
I have applied. Hoping my new connection will pique their interest
-
I have also applied, also waiting on the activation of my account. Seems they are having activation issues on their forums oh well. Good luck to all that signed up.
-
*Finally* received an email from them this morning inviting me to click on the link enclosed to authorise my registration.
Needless to say it didn't work >:(
Also I emailed them via the email link in the email to report any problems, only for *that* email to bounced straight back at me >:( >:( >:(
I have now officially lost patience with them .. >:(
-
Did they not tell you that you are beta testing the email service
-
Do you get any Free hardware from them ?. :hmm:
-
You usually get to keep what you beta test.
-
Just a polite request that this thread is kept on the topic of its "Subject" line.
Other posts to this thread have now been split off to form a separate thread, titled Comments Related to TP-LINK UK Recruiting Beta Testers (http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,18047.0.html).
-
Just quick note to say that I have now just received another email from TP-Link (this one with valid links) so have now been able to properly authorise my forum registration with them.

Out of interest, did you request another activation email via the forum?
I also got another email today - it took two days to get to my gmail account which is an improvement on the 4 days the first one took - but still to long for the activation links to remain valid.
-
My activation mail arrived on Thursday morning, so Im guessing they are manually sending out the mails rather than automated.
I'll flag it up with someone at TP-link.

No, it arrived out of the blue this morning.
-
The only thing since signing up for testing was half a dozen probes to the modem the next day from Japan, and I am now a forum member on TP-LINk.com :)
-
Finally managed to successfully active my forum registration this morning and it now shows me in the list of forum members online :)
No access to the beta area yet which I assume is done manually.
Oddly though, if I choose 'My Profile' on the top right hand corner of the page I still get "you do not have permission to access this page" message ???
-
Got my email today from TP-Link. Been accepted. Applied 4/7
-
Got myour email to say I had been setup for the beta section of there website but still can't log in
-
Yep, exact same results here (even tried two browsers to be sure).
Have dropped an email reply about it, will see what develops ...

Ditto - have also dropped them a line..
-
Take it you've all sent the rep who contacted you and supplied your username details for the TP-L forum? Surely it's just a case of waiting for them to amend your privileges to access the "hidden from public" thread. I'm sure it's just a matter of time for them to get round and have everything in place.
-
I'm sure it's just a matter of time for them to get round and have everything in place.
Yeah I agree it has been enabled for me
-
my forum account is active and I've had an email saying my beta test privilege has been activated. I can't see any beta section though, am I just going blind? where exactly is it placed in the forum. also if I click "my profile" it tells me I don't have privileges to access it. is this the same for anyone else?
-
my forum account is active and I've had an email saying my beta test privilege has been activated. I can't see any beta section though,
It is on the righthand side of the front page, just below "New Threads" ...
(and yes, I have had the email saying I have been granted access ::) )
-
I've also had the email saying access has been granted. My account has been activated but I don't have permission to access the beta part.
-
Just checked again and now have access to the beta area.
(Must have needed overnight for things to go through.)
