What does that do that http://www.pdfforge.org/products/pdfcreator doesn't?
PDFCreator is a free tool to create PDF files from nearly any Windows application.
Key Features:
* Create PDFs from any program that is able to print
* Security: Encrypt PDFs and protect them from being opened, printed etc.
* Send generated files via eMail
* Create more than just PDFs: PNG, JPG, TIFF, BMP, PCX, PS, EPS
* AutoSave files to folders and filenames based on Tags like Username, Computername, Date, Time etc.
* Merge multiple files into one PDF
* Easy Install: Just say what you want and everything is installed
* Terminal Server: PDFCreator also runs on Terminal Servers without problems
* And the best: PDFCreator is free, even for commercial use! It is Open Source and released under the Terms of the GNU General Public License.

Another one we use a lot is http://www.primopdf.com - it seems pretty good and is a lot quicker than Adobe!
-
Openoffice.org can export its documents as PDFs.
-
Its PrimoPDF I have used up til now.
Its one of those apps which works as a printer to create PDF files from any application.
The Serif PagePlus (8 or better) DTP program also does PDF export like OpenOffice.

The Foxit PDF creator actually hooks onto MS Word for you. :)

There do seem to be lots a pdf creation progs usually making a virtual printer that you use when you want a pdf. The one I have used for a long time is pdf995 from www.pdf995.com/. It is shareware and pops up an ad when you use it but it's not a great inconvenience.
