Title: ADSL Router On VDSL2 Line ?.
Post by: tickmike on May 17, 2016, 03:06:02 PM
What happens if you had a ADSL Modem/Router on a VDSL2 line ?.

Say if it was upgraded from ADSL to FTTC while the person was out at work !.   :hmm:

I guess nothing would happen - it simply wouldn't connect.

Some years ago, when my neighbour first migrated to a VDSL2 based service, I deliberately tested a G.992.1/G.992.3/G.992.5 device on his VDSL2 (G.993.2) circuit. As Eric has guessed, absolutely nothing happened.

Yes you agree with my thoughts  :), I wanted to be sure before I pass the information on to someone who  is being upgraded .
I told them.
When you have been upgraded you will have no internet when you come in from work and then try the new router and hopefully you will have a faster connection.

I have told them to leave the old router connected as the new combined ADSL / VDSL  TalkTalk HG633 is rubbish on ADSL G.DMT  only.
