PlusNet 2Mb BB+, slow yesterday (1.6Mb) :(, VERY slow today (456Kb) >:(.
Anybody else having problems?
Router seems happy, still syncing (?) at 2272, SNR 12 & Attenuation @ 49.
Contention? Rain? Thunderstorms this AM? Sheer bloody mindedness?

Recent PN speed tests ( I usually use http://www.dslzoneuk.net/ which tend to show faster speeds, this give me a nice warm feeling.

You are currently connected to the "Telehouse East, Juniper 4" gateway. This gateway is sometimes known as pte-ag2.

eke.. thats a hell of a sudden drop.
sorry been a bit busy over the past couple of days so not been around. :/
iirc youre still on a fixed 2Mb account and you havent been maxed?
Theres a couple of things it could be
1) exchange contention
2) Youre on a congested pipe.
Re 1)
If youre getting slow speeds you should perform a btw speedtest which will help diagnostics.
The btw speedtest completely bypasses your ISP and tests your speed between your home connection and the BT RAS.
Details how to do a BTw speedtest
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/btwspeedtest.htm
You need to log onto the speedtest domain. If you are having problems connecting to http://217.35.209.142 try http://217.32.105.42
2) On occasions certain gateways can become more crowded than others... normally a disconnect and reconnect of your router will put you on a different gateway.
You can check which gateway you are connected to from here
