Title: BELKIN f5d7632-4 Router question
Post by: Zanoma on March 18, 2008, 03:45:59 PM
Hi folks

My question is about my routers behavior i wanted to put my router into DMZ mode which i understand it bypassies the  firewall to allow all ports in and out.

So i did that and i tryed to connected to a game server but the port is not alowed to open for some wied reason but if i portforward the port it works but why ?

Most likely the DMZ was set incorrectly. Normally the router allows you to specify one IP address for DMZ traffic, see if you can find this setting rather than disabling the NAT firewall.

The NAT firewall blocks all incoming traffic reaching your computers and hides the IP adresses of your PCs. They only recieve incoming traffic which they have requested or when port forwarding is set up in the router.

DMZ lets you set an IP address of a computer and all unsolicited incoming traffic from the internet will be sent to it. Useful for games/web servers and so on where someone is trying to make the connection to you.

Is that any help? I dont have a belkin router so unfortunately cant direct you how to set it up.

The reason i wanted to put my ip into DMZ was because am getting a ***UDP FLOOD*** in my routers security log from the server i am connected to and its because of the settings below but i can't seem to find any info on the settings on the net =(
