Title: Noticable increase in fec and error seconds when phone rings
Post by: tommy45 on December 17, 2015, 07:38:31 PM
For some time i have observed a marked increase in both DS/US fec errors each time the phone rings , and more recently a marked increase in US Error seconds ,Probably a line fault, or a failing vdsl filtered face plate, ?  as it is the original one fitted by BTOR when FTTC was installed in may 2014

You're probably bob-on with your musings, Tommy. Something you could try to eliminate the integrated filter as the culprit, is to gently unscrew and remove it, and plug the router into the test socket via a micro-filter.  :)

You have suspected the correct items!  :)
Testing for the latter is as easy as replacing the centralised filter with a known working microfilter.

[I see B*Sheep was 32 seconds faster than my keyboard pawings . . .]

I take it by that you meen to remove the whole SSFP unit MK1-3 ?
