Title: Graphical traceroute for iOS or online
Post by: Weaver on November 08, 2015, 03:58:14 PM
Does anyone know of a graphical traceroute app for iOS or a website that performs a similar function and which actually works properly? (I realise that the two are not the same thing[!] -  because of the differences in starting point(s).)

I've tried several iOS apps all of which seem to show some really, really bizarre results, which if true would be very, very interesting as it would indicate that someone out there has some scary routing problems, although flaws in the geolocation databases or just plain good old-fashioned bugs would seem the more likely explanation, going on the general maxim that the dullest explanation is usually the truth.

A web-based service with a possible choice of start points (?) would be interesting too. I'm trying to find out how well different countries are connected to the outside world for educational purposes.

I've also seen a good tool that shows what AS is connected to what, pure topology and no timings, but I can't remember where I left it. A general view tool or topological map like this, that is not just opaque gibberish (because it connects ASs with geography), would be very interesting too.
