Title: FEELS LIKE A WET WEDNESDAY!
Post by: johnbuster on August 26, 2015, 04:29:22 PM
Hi all!
I'm a total tyro when it comes to telecoms which is why I'm here.  :baby:

I've come looking for help but the least I can do is to introduce myself and become a small part of the community.

I'll see you on the appropriate thread!
John

According to urbandictionary "tyro" means "a beginner", and I'm wondering if it is American. I've been trying to study for my O-Level in American but it seems I'm not making enough progress.

Hate to say but it is from a much older culture/language :(

Good old latin.

Tiro meaning Beginner as in Novice.

[late Middle English: from Latin tiro, medieval Latin tyro ‘recruit’.]
Hence the spelling.
Vague scrape up from old memories of Latin at school  :yay:
Looked up the spelling point but lots of mangled Latin in English language + a dozen other languages of places England 'ruled/invaded' etc [Long live the Empire .... Cue Music  ;D ]
