Title: Microsoft vacates moral high ground for the data slurpers cesspit (The Register)
Post by: AArdvark on August 06, 2015, 09:20:24 PM
IMO: A must Read.
I agree with this article 100%.

MS with Windows 10 have simply given in and joined the Apple/Google/Facebook world of 'monitisation' of your users at all costs & by any means.
I am very upset by this and after 30+ years of using MS OSes and products I am seriously thinking of going to Linux 100%.
(I love a good Unix/Linux but never thought I would use it as my Desktop PC Environment. Might as well look now as Windows 7/8 will be dying soon enough, if MS get their way.)

I did not follow the breadcrumbs to the 'adware app' as it stated it was adware up front in the article on 'The Register'.
From the original blog at http://bgr.com/2015/08/05/window-10-privacy-settings-how-to-stop-spying/ (http://bgr.com/2015/08/05/window-10-privacy-settings-how-to-stop-spying/) it state the app uses OpenCandy software.
OpenCandy is a wonderful way to install 'Lots of bad stuff (c)' on your machine. :)
I never touch anything that uses OpenCandy, which is a shame as it originally was not naughty in any way.

If Microsoft were occupying some form of moral high ground beforehand, we'll probably find it was on the shore of the Dead Sea.
