Title: Good high performance switch

Can anyone recommend a small-ish (16 ports, say), high performance gigabit switch? Would ideally support QoS for future-proofness.

I'm afraid that Im no help.   I recently moved away from using a network switch and rely on wifi more these days.  Latest routers with better wifi capability meant I was able to rip out some long lengths of CAT5 from what was a previous dead spot.

Not a personal reccomendation but  a hp PS1810 (only 8 ports) http://www.ebuyer.com/543868-hp-ps1810-8g-8-port-gigabit-switch-j9833a (http://www.ebuyer.com/543868-hp-ps1810-8g-8-port-gigabit-switch-j9833a) looks an interesting switch.

It can be powered by a POE device and will look good with a HP GEN8 Microserver.
