Title: Strange Drop in S/N at same time each night

Looking at DSLStats (ardsar) most nights around 11pm, i have a sudden 1dB drop in S/N for around 1 hr before it returns to follow the "normal" S/N curve.

Nothing in the house is turning on at this time of night so i assume external noise. If it was a neighbour turning on their modem at this time of night, wouldn't this also effect the up S/N?

Any thoughts?

I agree with your assumptions - it doesnt look anything like x-talk.  Looks more like REIN from an external source.

Went around the house before during and after the "event" last night to try and track it down. As stated previously, it must be external - nothing in the house switches at this time, and i couldn't really hear anything with a MW radio.

It doesn't seem to have an effect on the ES or CRC's. I'm just wondering if this is what is causing DLM to band be at 25000 down.

If it is REIN or RFI it will should show up in your Bitloading on the effected tones and then you can see the frequency using DSLstats then use the MW radio and lock onto that frequency and listen.

Thanks for the tip. It would appear that the tones effected are around 400 to 475 ish (1720 to 2000kHz). Any thoughts?

Hmm . . . Now where is the Amateur Radio 160 metre band (in terms of frequencies)? :hmm:

Checking in United Kingdom Table of Radio Frequency Allocations 9kHz - 105GHz (http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/archive/ra/publication/ra_info/ra365.htm) I see it is 1850 - 2000 kHz.  :-\

2.998 x 108 ms-1 / 160 m = 1873.75 x 103 Hz = 1874 kHz
