Title: HG612 firmware query
Post by: broadstairs on March 09, 2015, 11:02:48 AM
With G.INP and maybe vectoring being rolled out does anyone know what version firmware is needed on an HG612 in order to support this? My unlocked one, without the BT stuff running, currently runs A2pv6C038m.d24j.

That's the latest firmware, B030SP08, and is probably the only one with G.INP support.

I'm on G.INP and use the latest B030SP08 (A2pv6C038m.d24j) firmware.

One further question. Does the install of G.INP at the cabinet cause your router to drop and re-sync or do you only notice that when a re-sync is instigated at the users end? The reason I ask is that my HG612 has now been up for 107+ days.

All of Broadstairs,  Ramsgate and Margate are on ECI cabinets. All eight of the G.INP enabled lines on MDWS are on Huawei cabinets, not looking good for those of us on ECI cabs but only time will tell.

Yes, my HG612 (Huawei cab) had a re-sync instigated at the cab end when G.INP was enabled.

Does anyone know if any ECI cabinets have been done?  I hope everyone (me included) on ECI cabs are not going to miss out.  I have probably lost 40% of download speed since going live.  Luckily half of this loss was above 80Mbs but if it keeps going down crosstalk is going to make it no quicker than adsl2+.

you can't do it from the gui, it has to be done from the bootloader. Instructions here: https://huaweihg612hacking.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/hg612_unlock_instructions_v1-3.pdf
