Title: High ping Xbox One (above 150 ms)
Post by: Geekofbroadband on December 29, 2014, 02:43:33 AM
I was just wondering why I have such high ping for my xbox one, on everything else its under 10. It's not really a problem games dont lag but it just seemed a bit high

Are you using LAN or wifi.

Wifi will cause additional latency, and it will get worse the further your device is from the router.   Even if Im practically right by my router, wifi still adds about an additional 10ms.

xbox live has had ddos issues, they may not have completely recovered from them yet.

The server used for the ping test is in Redmond server bank hence ping. It can be ignored.

I have a router which allows you to ping the server or player host on xbox and pings are fine at c20ms on good servers

In relation to the question Kitz put forward. Are you using wifi or a lan cable?
