Sharon will join Ofcom in late March 2015 from HM Treasury, where she is Second Permanent Secretary.

As the "first black woman to lead in the media industry" her past experience is public finance, World Bank, Dept of Work & Pensions and currently works for the Treasury where she's been in charge of public spending.

All useful for regulating telecommunications Im sure.
