Title: Newbie Question - Help setting up dslstats on raspberry pi running raspbmc
Post by: spadge007 on August 20, 2014, 11:31:12 AM
Hi, since upgrading to Sky Fibre I have been reading around learning about FTTC. I currently have the Sky supplied SR102 connected to a 3rd generation Apple Time Capsule. This is working well but I would like to hook up the HG612 I have recently purchased and unlocked.

I would like to use the dslstat program to monitor the connection but don't have a windows pc permanently switched on. I do however have a raspberry pi which runs raspbmc. Its not heavily used and I'm wondering if that could be setup to use dslstats. Raspbmc is a minimal Linux distribution based on Debian that brings XBMC to the Raspberry Pi.

Can anyone provide some basic steps on how to install dslstats in Linux.

Many thanks

Download the Raspberry Pi version from http://www.s446074245.websitehome.co.uk/downloads.html (http://www.s446074245.websitehome.co.uk/downloads.html) and install it as described on the Intallation page on the website. The RPi version isn't always up to date with the other versions, but the available version 5.0.1 should work OK. You can also download an earlier version 4.53.1 if there are problems with 5.0.1.
