Title: Monitoring *other* routers
Post by: boost on June 09, 2014, 01:14:05 AM
Can any of these tools we use be customised, in a very basic sense, so different telnet logins/commands could be expected?

There is a Dlink DSL-3680 on my TT connection which has basic telnet access. It looks like this:

As you can see, it only asks for a password and the telnet commands do not have the standard xdsl type prefix. I've pasted the version output below:

Code: [Select]

sys version =>

 RAS version: v1.08t
 System   ID: $2.12.58.500(G04.BZ.4)3.20.19.0| 2013/11/18   20131118_v004  [Nov 18 2013 11:33:55]
 romRasSize: 1690278
 system up time:    26:28:27 (916d7b ticks)
 bootbase version: VTC_SPI_4M1.25 |  2012/6/8

As far as DSLstats is concerned, I'm afraid that although it would certainly be possible in principle, I just don't have the energy or the time. You might be able to get Routerstats working with it, using the custom setup arrangement, getting the data from the router's web pages.

I did have a look at DSL stats for the Pi last night, Roseway.

Great work :)
