Title: Hi all :)
Post by: echo92 on March 01, 2014, 10:57:57 PM
Hi all,

I've been a longtime lurker of the Kitz forums (lots of useful info and knowledgeable people here) so I'd thought I'd sign up eventually and post here to properly say hi :)

Hope to get involved more here, it's a breath of fresh air from the Talktalk forums (which I sometimes frequent). Oh, and I like cats :)

All the best

^-^  echo92 -- I see you have already started posting, so I'm a bit late in typing "Welcome to the Kitz forum."  ;)

A liking of the species felis domesticus is not mandatory but such an inclination does go a long way!  :D

Thank you all for the warm and fuzzy welcomes :)

I've been interested in broadband and the interent since I first experienced it way back in the 56K days. I remember the warbling and buzzing noises as it dialled up a 2 hour PPP session and the access to the WWW. Course, that was interrupted every so often by the parents complaining the phone line was engaged (again), but ISDN lines then were too expensive to justify :(

The introduction of ADSL 1, 2/2+ across a pair of copper wires that once only carried voice to a human-operated exchange - and now VDSL2 to the local cabinet - is pretty damn cool, however!

Ah, felis domesticus, an elegant creature for a more fun time, pretty intelligent (and crafty too), why I like them :D

It certainly is.

When I left BT in '99, ADSL was making an appearance, but most people were on dial up.

If anyone then had suggested that in a few year's time we'd have good quality audio and video to New Zealand - over a copper phone line - for free, we'd have said 'No way!'  :D
