We're on a 40/2 VDSL connection (business) and have a DualCom intruder/fire dual signalling device. (Upon intruder/fire alarm activation the key-holders are contacted and then the relevant emergency service attends the scene if required, etc. etc.) The DualCom unit has a SIM card in to make the 'call' to the monitoring company and also requires an analogue phone line back-up. We current have a specific analogue line for that purpose as we use ISDN for all phones and eFax for our faxes so no other requirements for an analogue line! Is it a good idea to put the DualCom on the VDSL line (bearing in mind it will only ever be used in the very rare occurrence of an alarm activation and a mobile network outage)? Or will I get 'interference' or any other problems on the BroadBand connection??

Although you might only have a very few real alarms, the unit should have a watchdog type of service with regular polls, possibly through either or both comms channels.
I would expect that the phone line is the normal route and the mobile is only a standby one.
As the PSTN connection is likely to be a dial-up modem, it might be prudent to keep those signals well clear of VDSL services.
When your VDSL service fails, you really don't want to be poking around with those wires if they were involved with the alarm system either.
